Protection of personal data
Enterprise Europe Network is firmly committed to protecting user privacy.
The policy on “the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions” is based on Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000.
Although you can browse most websites without providing any personal information, in some cases you will be asked to provide certain personal information in order to provide electronic services on request.
In the event that such information is requested from you, it will be handled in accordance with the policy described in the above Regulation. You will find information on the use of your personal data in the individual privacy statements.
In this respect:
- for each individual electronic service, the controller identifies the purposes and means of the processing of personal data and ensures that the individual electronic service complies with the privacy statement;
- a data protection officer within each institution to ensure that the provisions of the Regulation are properly implemented and to advise supervisors on the fulfilment of their obligations (see Article 24 of the Regulation);
- the whole process is supervised by a common representative of all institutions or by the European Data Protection Supervisor, as an independent supervisory authority (see Articles 41 to 45 of the Regulation).
The Enterprise Europe Network website also contains links to third-party websites. As we have no control over these sites, we advise you to read their privacy statements.
Each privacy statement contains the following information regarding the use of your personal data:
- What data is collected, the purpose for which the data is used and the type of technical means used by Enterprise Europe Network to collect the personal data, solely to the extent strictly necessary to achieve the specific purpose. The data will not be used for anything incompatible with that purpose;
- Which parties have access to your personal data Enterprise Europe Network will only disclose your data to third parties if it is strictly necessary to achieve a specific purpose and only to the specified (categories of) recipients.Enterprise Europe Network will not disclose your data for direct marketing purposes;
- How to access the information, how to check its accuracy and, if necessary, how to correct it. As the person whose data is being used, you also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data on compelling grounds, unless the data has been provided for compliance with a legal obligation, is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, or is being used for a purpose based on your explicit consent;
- How long is your data kept? Enterprise Europe Network only keeps data for as long as is strictly necessary to fulfil the purpose of the collection or further processing of the data;
- Defining security measures to protect information from any misuse or unauthorised access;
- The contact persons to whom you can direct your questions or complaints.
How do we handle the emails you send us?
On the Enterprise Europe Network website, there is a “Contact” button that launches your email programme and invites you to submit your message to a dedicated mailbox.
When sending such a message, only the personal data strictly necessary to provide a reply will be collected. If the team managing the mailbox in question is unable to reply to you, it will forward your email to another service, but will send you an email to let you know to which service it has forwarded your query.
If you have any questions about the processing of your emails and personal data, please include them in your message and we will do our best to find appropriate answers.
