The Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport invites companies to express their interest in participating in an Important Project of Common European Interest in the field of computing infrastructure and to submit an initial project proposal.
The call, in the form of a public invitation, is intended to verify the interest of Slovenian companies in participating in an Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) in the field of Computing Infrastructures Continuum (CIC), which is being established at the European level, and to submit an initial project proposal.
Cilj IPCEI CIC je uvedba suverene računalniške infrastrukture v Evropi, ki jo zagotavlja arhitektura večjega števila ponudnikov, pri čemer poudarek ni omejen na uvajanje rešitev umetne inteligence. Za zagotovitev širših gospodarskih koristi morajo podprti projekti neposredno prispevati k razvoju evropske digitalne verige vrednosti – od izgradnje podatkovnih centrov do zagotavljanja storitev v oblaku. Pomembna je tudi sposobnost usposabljanja in delovanja rešitev umetne inteligence na lokaciji, kjer se podatki ustvarjajo. Gre za sistemski pristop federiranega porazdeljenega ekosistema s pametno orkestracijo distribuiranega računalništva in funkcij povezljivosti, ki omogoča varen in zaupen prenos ter obdelavo množičnih podatkov.
The IPCEI CIC project focuses on two work areas:
- the deployment and use of infrastructure,
- the federation and interconnection of sovereign cross-border interconnected infrastructures at the EU level, operating as a computing continuum.
We emphasize that the IPCEI CIC is in the process of being established – the start of the international matchmaking process is planned for the second quarter of 2026. This is a process that, through networking and connection-building, enables the establishment of partnerships between participating companies for the realization of the IPCEI CIC in specific work areas. The matchmaking process is a necessary phase in the establishment and development of the IPCEI CIC, where companies connect into a consortium of partners at the European level based on project proposals and planned development in individual work areas. Companies can participate in the IPCEI CIC as direct or associated partners.
Javno povabilo je za izkaz interesa in oddajo projektnih predlogov odprto do zaključenega povezovanja v IPCEI CIC. Kljub temu podjetjem predlagamo, da izkažejo interes in oddajo projektni predlog do 23. decembra 2025, saj bodo tako lahko vključena v postopek povezovanja v IPCEI CIC že takoj na začetku tega postopka. Sodelovanje pri IPCEI projektih zahteva uporabo angleškega jezika.
The Ministry is also planning an information meeting regarding the IPCEI CIC; the date will be announced subsequently within the public invitation for expressions of interest.
