On Monday, 24. In August 2026, the Meet4Business AGRA 2026 event took place at the AGRA fair in Gorgona Radgona, which offered companies a combination of expertise in artificial intelligence, digitalization and automation and concrete opportunities for international business integration.
Digital transformation for SMEs is no longer a question of the future. Artificial intelligence, automation and data solutions already offer numerous opportunities for business optimization, more efficient processes and better decision-making. The key question is how to approach these technologies thoughtfully and how to bring companies closer to the knowledge and support they need in their first steps.
This is exactly what the expert roundtable “Artificial Intelligence in SMEs: Practical Frameworks for Thoughtful Deployment”, which took place as part of Meet4Business AGRA 2026 and 64, was dedicated to this purpose. AGRA International Agri-Food Fair.
From the technology of the future to concrete solutions
The participants of the round table focused mainly on the practical aspects of the introduction of artificial intelligence in companies and agriculture.
Concrete examples of the use of smart sensors, data analytics, artificial intelligence in online commerce, digital solutions for farm management and animal care, as well as AI-supported customer service and information retrieval were presented.
The discussion showed that the introduction of artificial intelligence is not necessarily associated with large investments or complex technological projects. For many companies, digital transformation can start with solving a very specific business challenge – automating a repetitive task, making better use of data, or implementing a tool that saves employees time.
In her introductory address, the Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Ms. Vesna Nahtigal, emphasized that the key question today is no longer whether we will use artificial intelligence, but how we will use it thoughtfully, responsibly and for the benefit of people and the economy.

Businesses also need a supportive environment
An important part of the conversation was devoted to the support available to companies in the introduction of new technologies.
SLAIF – Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Factory and KCUI – Competence Centre for Artificial Intelligence were highlighted.
SLAIF opens up access to expertise, support, and advanced computing capabilities for businesses, while KCUI connects researchers, experts, and users to help companies understand, deploy, and effectively use AI solutions.
Such support environments are particularly important for SMEs, which often do not have their own development teams or sufficient resources to keep up with rapid technological developments on their own.

The guests of the round table were: Dr. Žiga Zebec, Prof. Dr. Domen Mongus, Luka Drofenik Granevo, Urban Rotnik MooHero, Dr. Martin Znidaršič and Prof. Dr. Marko Debeljak. The round table was connected by Enej Gradišek.
From knowledge to business opportunities
However, Meet4Business AGRA 2026 did not end with professional work.
The round table was followed by pre-arranged individual B2B meetings aimed at finding new customers, suppliers, distributors, development partners and other business connections.
The event brought together 110 companies from 30 countries, thus offering an important opportunity for Slovenian companies to present their business interests to international partners and find new ways of cooperation.
Connecting knowledge, companies and international opportunities is one of the key areas of the Enterprise Europe Network. The network helps Slovenian SMEs innovate, digital and green transformation, find international partners and enter new markets. The EEN is designed as a European link to national and regional support environments, with services tailored to the specific needs of individual companies.

Digitalisation and internationalisation go hand in hand
The event at AGRA thus showed two sides of the development of a modern company: access to knowledge and technologies and the ability to connect with new business partners and markets.
For SMEs, it is precisely the combination of both that is important for long-term competitiveness. The introduction of new technologies can improve the efficiency and innovation of a company, and international integration opens up opportunities for new markets, partnerships and development.
Enterprise Europe Network Slovenia will continue to contribute to the fact that Slovenian companies will have easier access to the knowledge, partners and opportunities they need to grow, innovate and compete in European and other international markets through professional events, consulting, business integration and support in internationalization. This is also one of the key goals of EEN Slovenia for the period 2025–2028.
