European funding for innovative and sustainable business models in the timber industry

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved European funds for the “Public Tender to Promote the Development and Implementation of Business Processes and Business Models Based on the Principles of Circular Economy and Digitalization (Les KG – Business Models)”. The European Regional Development Fund will contribute more than €13.3 million to the implementation of the tender.

The public tender is intended to support companies in the wood processing industry in introducing modern, sustainable and digital ways of doing business. With the help of European funds, companies will be able to develop strategies for the transition to a circular economy and make investments in new technologies, equipment and solutions that enable more efficient use of resources and reduce environmental impacts.

The aim of the call is to encourage the development of more competitive, productive and environmentally friendly companies in the wood processing industry, which will contribute to the decarbonisation of Slovenia and the transition to a low-carbon circular economy. The call supports both the planning and implementation of measures for the sustainable and digital transformation of business in the wood processing sector.

The public call will be published on the website of the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Sport, and companies in the wood processing industry can apply for it.

The European Regional Development Fund will contribute EUR 13,350,000 of European funds to the project with a total value of EUR 15,720,000.
