- Cattenom FRANCE - 08.07.2025 - Das französische Kernkraftwerk Cattenom liegt bei der Gemeinde Cattenom an der Mosel, in der Region Lothringen. Das Kernkraftwerk besteht aus vier Druckwasserreaktoren mit je einer Leistung von 1362 MW Gross und war damit 2012 das drittstärkste Kernkraftwerk Frankreichs. Seine vier Kühltürme und deren Wasserdampffahnen prägen das Landschaftsbild. Betreiber ist das Unternehmen EDF. Die Anlage liegt zwölf Kilometer von der deutschen Grenze und neun Kilometer von der luxemburgischen Grenze entfernt. Das Kraftwerk umfasst ein Gebiet von etwa 415 Hectare und liegt ca. 20 Meter oberhalb der Mosel.
