Slovenian companies developing solutions in the field of robotics, industrial automation, smart factories and digital manufacturing can apply for the Smart Factory & Robotics Business Mission in Japan 2027, organized by the EU-Japan Centre.
The mission will be carried out February 15-19, 2027 in Tokyo and will include participation in the Smart Factory Expo 2027, held as part of Factory Innovation Week at Tokyo Big Sight.
The deadline to apply is October 22, 2026.
Who is the mission for?
The opportunity is mainly aimed at European companies that offer innovative solutions with industrial applications in the areas of:
- industrial and collaborative robotics,
- smart factories and production automation,
- IoT and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT),
- AI-enabled production systems;
- digital production,
- sensors and machine vision systems,
- control technologies and SCADA systems,
- autonomous transport,
- sustainable production solutions.
A maximum of 16 participants will be selected.
Opportunity to enter the Japanese market
The selected companies will be able to showcase their technologies and services at the joint EU-Japan Centre exhibition area at Smart Factory Expo 2027, meet Japanese companies and other industry representatives, and explore opportunities for business, technology and innovation cooperation.
The EU-Japan Centre will provide selected participants with:
- exhibition space at the common stand,
- support in the organization of individual meetings with Japanese companies,
- interpretation at the stand and fair,
- translation and printing of the company’s presentation profile or poster,
- Online training on business and the Japanese market before the start of the mission,
- hotel accommodation during the mission,
- Advice on intellectual property and support in finding opportunities in the field of public procurement.
Participants themselves cover the costs of travel to and from Japan, local transportation, food and other living expenses.
