Scientific Committee of Independent Experts on the Artificial Intelligence Act

The European Commission is setting up a Scientific Committee of independent experts to support the implementation and enforcement of the AI Act.

The group will work on general-purpose AI models and systems, advising the EU AI Office and national authorities on systemic risks, model classification, assessment methodologies and cross-border market surveillance. It will also alert the AI Office to new risks.

The Commission is looking for 60 members for a 24-month renewable mandate. The deadline for applications is 14 September.
