The European Commission has launched two important public consultations that will help shape future policies to boost innovation, growth and competitiveness of EU businesses.
As part of the preparation of the European Innovation Act, a key part of the EU’s strategy for start-ups and scale-ups, the Commission has launched a call for evidence and invited stakeholders to contribute their views. The Act will facilitate bringing innovative ideas to market in all sectors, address challenges in commercialising research results, strengthen cooperation between industry and educational institutions, and improve companies’ access to markets, finance, talent and infrastructure. Contributions can be submitted on the Commission’s “Have your say” portal until 30 October 2025.
In addition, the Commission has launched a public consultation on a 28th Regime to help businesses grow and increase competitiveness in the EU. The initiative will help businesses, including innovative and start-up businesses, to overcome obstacles to setting up, operating and expanding in the Single Market through a single set of rules. The results of the consultation will shape several legal aspects, including labour and taxation. This consultation will run until 30 September 2025. For more information and to submit your contributions, please visit the Commission’s “Have your say” web portal.
