At the event European Competitiveness in Practice: EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2028\u20132034, EU Competitiveness Fund, and National Priorities<\/em>, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, representatives of the European Commission, the state, and the economy discussed the future directions of European competitiveness and opportunities for Slovenian companies.<\/p>

Special attention was drawn to the appearance of Kerstin Jorna, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) at the European Commission. In her address, she emphasized the importance of the single European market, strong industrial ecosystems, and resilient value chains for maintaining the competitiveness of the European economy.<\/p>

According to her, in a time of rapid technological change, geopolitical challenges, and global competition, companies must make even better use of the advantages of the European market, invest in innovation, and strengthen cooperation with research institutions and business partners across Europe.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Competitiveness is based on innovation and connectivity<\/h2>

The central message of the event was that Europe needs a stronger link between research, innovation, funding, and industry. Only in this way will it be possible to accelerate the transfer of knowledge to the market, increase productivity, and create products and services with higher added value.<\/p>

The discussants also highlighted the importance of:<\/p>

  • digital and green transformation of companies,<\/li>
  • access to finance for development and growth,<\/li>
  • internationalization of business,<\/li>
  • integration into European and global value chains,<\/li>
  • development of key competences and talents.<\/li><\/ul>

     <\/p>

    The future EU multiannual financial framework and the planned European Competitiveness Fund are expected to provide companies with additional opportunities for financing innovation, technological development, and strengthening international competitiveness.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    What does this mean for Slovenian SMEs?<\/h2>

    As a small and export-oriented economy, Slovenia builds its competitiveness primarily on knowledge, innovation, and successful integration into international markets. Therefore, for Slovenian small and medium-sized enterprises, the following will be key in the coming years:<\/p>

    • access to new markets and business partners,<\/li>
    • involvement in international research and development projects,<\/li>
    • implementation of advanced technologies,<\/li>
    • strengthening sustainable business models,<\/li>
    • efficient use of European programs and financial instruments.<\/li><\/ul>

      The role of the Enterprise Europe Network<\/h2>

      In achieving these goals, the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), the world’s largest support network for small and medium-sized enterprises with international ambitions, also provides significant support to companies.<\/p>

      EEN Slovenia helps companies find business, technological, and development partners in Europe and beyond, advises on European legislation and funding programs, and supports companies in their digital and green transformation.<\/p>

      The event’s messages confirmed that cooperation, innovation, and international connectivity will be key success factors for European companies in the coming decade. The Enterprise Europe Network will continue to be an important partner for Slovenian companies on their path to growth, internationalization, and greater competitiveness.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
